Peru 2026

Our trip dates are set for August 15th-23rd, 2026. We will be traveling to and working in Iquitos, Peru and surrounding communities.  

The purpose of our work teams is to support, encourage, serve, and love the children and staff of Not Forgotten as well as to share the hope of Jesus through both word and action to all we meet along the way. We hope to build lasting relationships with the children and people with whom we work that remind them that they are not forgotten, and to be a tangible demonstration of how valuable these children are to Christ. We accomplish our goals through various construction projects, organized crafts and games, educational activities, sports activities, special excursions, conversations, laughter, and the building of long-lasting relationships. While we usually undertake construction projects during the trip, the completion of these projects is not the ultimate goal of our trips and is secondary to the above-mentioned purpose. Typically, mornings are filled with various construction projects (the children are in school) and afternoons/evenings are filled with quality time with the children, house parents, and other staff. 

Depending on the time of year and cost of airfare, our trips range from $2500-$3000. Trip cost includes international airfare, transportation within Peru, construction supplies, food, lodging, baggage fees, administration fees, and travel insurance. This does not include background checks, vaccinations, malaria medication, passport fees, food in airports, or the cost of souvenirs. Please know that every effort is made to minimize costs without jeopardizing the quality, effectiveness, and safety of our teams.

Since Redeemer wants to support members going on our short term trips, we will be contributing a subsidy per person towards this trip, which will lower the actual cost (exact cost determined after team is finalized and flights purchased). If you feel that the Lord is leading you to participate in this trip, but are concerned about finances, please reach out to the missions staff. We do not ever want finances to be an obstacle that keeps you from obediently stepping forward in faith and would love to discuss different options.

You need to have a current passport or apply for one immediately (the trip dates must not be within 6 months of the expiration date). We provide 2 mandatory pre-trip training meetings, as well as 1 post-trip meeting/debrief. The dates for these are TBD.
