Local Summer Mission Trip 2025

TRIP INFORMATION
This July we have a great opportunity to participate in our first short-term local mission trip. 

Our goal is to provide an immersive experience by coming alongside our newest local partner, Oak Tree Ministries. Oak Tree is a gospel centered ministry seeking to do community development in the Gate City Housing projects. They provide after school programming for youth, job training, and trauma-informed care for the men, women, and children of the neighborhood. 

This trip will include:

1. Strategic training and workshops regarding the history of our city, sharing the gospel in word and deed, and collaborative learning with RCC mission staff and leadership at Oak Tree. We will also have time to debrief what we are seeing and doing as a team. 

2. Hands on volunteering with their summer program and opportunities to develop mutually transformational relationships with residents in the community. 

3. Assisting Oak Tree in outfitting and preparing their newly acquired Newman Center so that they can offer new additional programming and ministry opportunities. 

This short-term trip is a fantastic initial experience to discovering more of what it means to love our neighbors and to pursue God’s heart for our city (Jeremiah 29:7).
